Hello and welcome to my site...

My name is Mike Jones, and I am a self taught artist...

My art consists of the things I see around me, not so much the composition, but mostly just the light and color and shadows...

I strive to make my portraits and landscapes have feeling, have depth... my intent is to portray the things I see with a level of clarity that goes beyond what the eye, or even the camera, can detect in every day life...

I can also turn keepsake items into a one of a kind still life... dried flowers, watches, rings, books, pretty much anything can be made into a stunning painting that lets you more easily put these treasures on display...

September already, where did August go?

I added a new painting in Portraits, Page 1, and am currently in the process of another self portrait.

Don't forget!!! Cooper-Young is Saturday Sept. 13th, I'll have some paintings there but I think this year I may do live portraits on site.... 15 minute pastels... man I need to get in practice I reckon... Hope to see ya'll there....
