Pricing may vary depending on size and the amount of detail in a painting. Generally I won't do any pieces that are smaller than 16x20, and for the most part I prefer 22x28 as a minimum. Keep in mind that a painting is not a photograph, so making it smaller doesn't take away anything but the detail.

As a general rule for portraits:

22x28 up to 24x36 one to two people, head and shoulders only
$900.00 add $200 for each additional person

30x40 or larger, up to two people, full body
$2000.00 add $500 for each additional person

For Landscapes or Still Life:
Pricing would vary depending on detail and size of the picture, but as a general rule it would be $1.00 per sq. inch, or approximately $850 for a 24x36 for a landscape or still life.

Prices do not include travel and lodging expenses, which shall be agreed upon and paid prior to beginning work, and is not refundable.

Prices do not include framing.

The Process:
I prefer to work from photographs, simply because with all the time constraits we all have in our lives it works out to be much more convenient for everyone involved. The process includes an initial consultation, sample pictures that I will take of the subject and the proposed background (if applicable) and generally getting to know the person that I will be painting. This process enables me to capture a bit more of their character in the painting, as well as getting a better idea of the person's form and demeanor. The initial layout and composition will be reviewed by the client prior to beginning the full painting, this may include a color study but most likely will be a full size "sketch" of the painting. Once the composition is agreed upon a 50% deposit is required, the remaining 50% being due upon final acceptance and delivery of the painting. All fees are fully refunded in the event you are not completely satisfied, with the exception of travel and lodging expenses.

You will also recieve a high resolution photograph of your painting on CD, I can also video tape the painting process upon request, the price of which will be negotiated during the initial consultation.

If you have a picture that you are interested in having painted, contact me and I'll give you a quote. Don't forget about family heirlooms, sometimes a still life of Grandfather's pocket watch, razor or other small treasures make the most interesting pictures.

I prefer to take the pictures that I paint from myself, but if you already have a favorite photo that has adequate detail then I can work from a scanned copy.

I can also combine several pictures into a single painting.
